Does one have to be a good hiker? How do we reach the start of the tour from the meeting point? What happens if the tour is cancelled? How does the loyalty card work? The proposed tours are leaded tours. The expression "leaded tour" is a bit confusing. Therefore, I have to explain it a bit further. Proposed are cultural hikes, which purposes are the discovery of the mountain’s environment as well as the region where the tour takes place, and this, in a friendly atmosphere. For me, it is very important that the experience is pleasant. Therefore, all tours are based on shared fun and friendliness. I would even say that hiking is of minor interest and is only an excuse for the discovery of the environment. It all depends on the outing for which you would like to participate. If it’s a tour on one or two days, a simple phone call is enough. You should be aware, however, that I must be notified early enough, since the go/no go decision is based on the weather forecast as well as the number of participants. This decision is taken 48 hours before the start. If you apply at the latest three days before start, you will considerably help me in planning the outings. If it is a tour on three days or more, a written application is required. The format is free: a simple E-mail might be enough. You should be aware that the application is only valid on receipt of a deposit of 30% of the total amount. Here also, it will depend on the outing. To ease administration, tours on one or two days can be paid directly the day of the outing. For trekking on three days or more, you must make sure that the total amount will be received before the start of the tour. In this case, you can pay either by bank transfer or by post account. You must take into account the transfer delay that can last several days. The account information is the following: Bank account Charles Lehmann Account no. 73376.68 Raiffeisen de la Champagne P.O. Does one have to be a good hiker? It is a very common question for which providing an answer is very difficult, since the concept of "strength" is relative. I can, however, provide some hints helping somehow to qualify the proposed tours. First, my role is to show the natural and human environment during the tours. Therefore, the hike is only a "tool" to help us get nearer to these environments. The goal is not, therefore, "to plough along", but rather to take time to discover our environment. Second, I think that even a less trained person can do an outing of 700m height difference, without problems. Then, at last, if you still feel uncomfortable, why not choose an easy tour (between 0 and 500m height difference) and get an idea about the type of outings? My clients are very varied. However, the average people attending to the tours are between 30 and 50. How do we reach the start of the tour from the meeting point? Since I own a minibus, I can drive participants from the meeting point to the start of the tour. However, I ask for a small contribution for the transportation costs. This contribution is of Sfr 5.- per person per realised 50 Km. So, for example for a total 290 Km drive (forth and back), I would ask for a Sfr 25.- per person. The travel with the minibus is, however, not mandatory and all participants can come with their own private cars, if they wish so. If the number of participants is above 7, a drive with private cars is organised. This question is useless for trekking from three days on, since a list is provided on the description of the tour. This question is useful for tours on one day. In this case, beside picnic and beverage, one has to remember taking rain proof clothes, sun protection (cap, sun cream and sunglasses) and warm clothes. To feel comfortable, on can also take dry clothes for the trip back. All this has to be carried in a backpack. Here again, it will depend on the type of the tour. For summer tours, I am not a mountain boot fundamentalist and I can, in some cases, tolerate running shoes. You must, however, keep in mind that these shoes are inappropriate on some grounds, that their usage in the mountains require strong ankles and that they can become very uncomfortable in case of rain or dew. For snowshoes tours, warm and waterproof boots are required, as well as waterproof trousers or gaiters. For tours on one or two days, nothing.
30% for a cancellation one week before the tour. 20% for a cancellation two weeks before the tour. 10% for a cancellation three weeks, or more, before the tour. For a cancellation during the week befor the tour, no reimbursment will be performed. What happens if the tour is cancelled? In this case the complete amount is reimbursed. How does the loyalty card work? The loyalty card gives the right for a free daily tour after 10 hiking days performed with Destination Montagne. Each daily tour or full moon tour gives one mark. In the case of trekking, the grades are given based on the number of days the trekking is lasting (for example a 5 days trekking gives 5 marks). Cancelled outings do not count. The free tour must be performed on a daily tour appearing on the tour schedule. It gives no right for a refund nor a discount for a trekking or a week-end.
