The path that, at the exit of the village of Engelberg, crosses an old bridge (Schwibogen) and follows the torrent's gorge is magnificent. It allows one to follow the Engelberger Aa, from the Genisee to Grafenort (the Count's Place) and even further. Huge part of the forest along the torrent has been teared away during December 1999 hurricane. The name of Aa is Celtic and indicates the same origin that the Aar, or, in Canton Geneva, the Aire. |
